Performance improvements are an ongoing process for the Notes 8 Standard client. What kind of system are you using?
What OS?
What is the CPU Speed?
How much RAM?
Something to try:
1. Remove anything from the startup folder (see PIC 1 below for more info)
2. View - Sidebars - Thin (top level menu - see PIC 2 below for more info)
3. File - Close All
4. Fix - Exit
Now restart Notes 8 Standard. Any improvement?
I can tell you this. My startup time (the time it takes to get to the Notes logon dialog) is about 12-15 seconds using the latest Notes 8 Standard build (post beta 3) on an IBM T40 laptop with 1.5 G cpu and 1 G ram.
